However, there were some positive reviews, with Brian Truitt of USA Today writing that the film “nicely stokes the imagination of a new generation of science-fiction movie nerds” and Shannon Harvey of The West Australian writing “It’s actually got a lot going for it, from acting prodigy Chloe Grace Moretz as the kind of tough but fragile heroine you can cheer for to handsome production values, several plot twists”. In addition, many disparaged the waste of talented actors due to poor vision and filmmaking. Most critics lambasted the film for its derivative plot and narrative and immensely criticized the poor dialogues. While the film was a commercial success, earning a total $109.9 million against a budget of approximately $48 million, ‘The 5th Wave’ could not score many points in the department of the quality of filmmaking. The movie is co-produced by Columbia Pictures, GK Films, LStar Capital, Living Films and Material Pictures, and premiered on January 22, 2016. In addition, the film also stars Nick Robinson as Ben Thomas Parish, Alex Roe as Evan Walker, Maria Bello as Sergeant Reznik, Maika Monroe as Ringer and Liev Schreiber as Colonel Alexander Vosch.

what's wrong with this world, but the kid sure was a genius, I guess companies can use the help of former scammers and professional criminals, but I wonder, how much of that STOLEN money has he paid BACK to society, this is what I have a big problem with. The film stars the tremendously talented Chloë Grace Moretz as the protagonist Cassie Sullivan, with Ron Livingston essaying the role of the father, Oliver Sullivan, Maggie Siff portraying the character of the mother, Lisa Sullivan, the young Zackary Arthur essaying the role of brother, Sam Sullivan. So criminals and scammers succeed in life, and the hard working honest people struggle and live in misery. Spoilers ahead for those that did not see it !!!Īt first I didn't think I would like it, some parts are really disappointing, but as it progresses you are curious to know what happens next, it was confusing at first because they kept showing parts in the future, then going back in the past, but it's confusing because at first you think that the FIB is helping the prisoner escape It's unbelievable that this movie is based on a real story, he was only 17 and he managed to do all that on his own.a hard criminal that stole from banks and big business, YET in the end he gets a good job with the FBI, and becomes a multi millionaire as businesses pay him for his services (this is based on the actual events the movie depicts). Most of the actors in the movie are teens, you will see why, I don't want to spoil it, so this is a kind of movie that kids / teens might like to watch. The problem is, that whilst the story is good, there was some poor execution in some areas, and the acting is not all that good, similar to low budget films - but the story itself and some parts are sure fitting with current events, if they had better acting and directing this would have potential, nice special effects in some parts, but it is nowhere, NOWHERE near good as 2012, BUT worth watching at least once, because it is thought provoking. Mind you this movie is unique, in the sense that it sure has the feeling of an independent film, YET it had a 38 million $ production budget. Yeah it's on Netflix so you'll have to "acquire" it by "other means" Valerie wrote: I think 'the 5th wave' is one I have not ever watched.
